Start with broad timing
Because the fertile window begins before ovulation, waiting for a single predicted ovulation day can be unnecessarily narrow. Regular sex across the possible fertile window accounts for some timing variation.
Layer signals if useful
Cycle history gives a starting estimate. Cervical mucus and LH tests may suggest ovulation is approaching, while a later temperature shift may support that it occurred. More data is not always better if tracking increases distress.
Know when to seek advice
Fertility guidance depends on age, cycle pattern, health history, and how long pregnancy has been attempted. Seek earlier care for irregular or absent cycles, known reproductive conditions, recurrent pregnancy loss, or other concerns.
